However, Cindy Crawford has just as much intelligence as she has beauty. Cindy Crawford has shown us that you can be beautiful and smart as she conquered more than the modeling world.
It all started in DeKalb, Illinoise where Cindy was born to John and Jennifer Crawford who later divorced. She had 3 siblings but suffered a tragic loose when her brother Jeff passed away from leukemia. She was only 10 years old. In fact, a percentage of her calendar sales are donated to the cause that claimed her brother’s life. Cindy Crawford graduated as valedictorian of her high school class. Her next stop was Northwestern University, where with the help of a scholarship, she studied chemical engineering. By the end of her first semester in college, Cindy Crawford was ready to start her modeling career in Chicago. It was after she moved to New York that Cindy Crawford started building her success. She quickly took her place along side other famous models such as Naomi Campbell. She also became one of the first modern supermodels to pose for Playboy. In addition to modeling, Cindy Crawford has tackled broadcast journalism on MTV’s House of Style. She also took a stab at acting. The most notable picture was “Fair Game” with William Baldwin. Though it was not well received, Cindy did not let it get her down. Cindy also capitalized by selling everything from calendars to video workouts. With all of her accomplishments, Cindy still had time for her family. In 1991 she was married to Richard Gere. After suffering from the pressure of the fame, they divorced in 1995.
